|06:14 pm - Interlude II|
"I really appreciate your taking the time to take me to my CT scan, Dad," I told him as we waited for the nurse to call me back.
"No problem. Of course, I'm missing what might be an important meeting that I wouldn't want to go to anyway, so actually, having to take my daughter to the doctor is a really good excuse," he replied.
"Well, glad to see you're getting some use out of your daughter's painful and chronic condition," I said with heavy irony.
"Yeah," he chortled happily, "It's almost as good an excuse as when I was sick, except without all the pain and blood and stuff!"
We looked at each other for a second.
"Oh, THAT'S going in the blog."
I have a hearty appreciation for the men in your life. Apparently, you hang with a crowd that Hemingway would find comfortable. I can respect that.
Heh. Yeah, the menfolk are pretty amusing. :-)
Mens are silly folk, honey (just look at that one posting above me here). At least you're getting some good update fodder out of them. *L*
If it weren't for Charlie, Rob, and Dad, I'd never have anything to update about worth reading.
Oh, and Uncle Jack, but it's harder to write about him, 'cause now that he's passed away he's not nearly as entertaining as he was when he was alive.
Although the story about his ashes getting passed around might be worth an update.
If it's anything like my story about burying Papa, I'd love to hear it. The best stories are the true ones.
I'm actually working on a story about that. Just not quite ready to finish it yet. :-)
you never post my heartless comments
Wouldn't want to ruin your reputation as a softie.
