|08:10 pm - Another day, another ER visit|
I spent Sunday in the ER again getting CT scanned and shot up with morphine. Grr. Apparently, they couldn't really find anything wrong, so they sent me home with some Vicodin and told me to follow up with the GI doc since it was probably Crohn's-related. Said GI doc is, of course, unavailable until Sept 10.
So, I'm mostly fine now. Whatever was causing the horrible pain that sent me to ER eventually went away, and now I'm just kind of morphine-dopey.
I hate, hate, HATE going to the ER and then basically having nothing be wrong.
Bastards. They should at least give you your money back if they can't figure it out.
I may not be posting for awhile since it generally takes me about a week to throw off the effects of drugs like that, but I'm more or less fine.
Its kinda like clue.
It was SushiRob, on the drive home, with the Burger King Whopper.
Told ya fast food would kill ya
OK, maybe I didnt. Or maybe I did. I dont really know anymore. At any rate, at least its nothing and not something. Did they give you the standard advise of eat healthier, exercise and loose weight? Cuz Id demand a refund if they didnt at least give you the standard treatment plan.
No. They said "follow up with your GI doc." That was pretty much it. They didn't really seem to have a clue. I shouldn't have told them I have Crohn's disease: then maybe they'd have looked harder.

Gawd, I hate it when they just slap a "it's got to be:" (insert whatever malady a person has) because they can't figure something out. Bleeding from 6 orifices? Well, we can't figure it out so it MUST be your Fibromyalgia. Growing hair and teeth and eyes from the middle of your back? Hells bells, woman, go home it's JUST your arthritis rearing its ugly head...
I hope you find a decent doctor who can figure this out soon hon.
I hate the ER too.. they almost ALWAYS call it non-specific pain
hope you feel better, or they figure it out and fix it soon.
I'm with WiseWabbt. How can they know if they don't really look?? :?
I hope your body starts behaving soon, sweetie.
* smoooochies *
If you are in enough pain, its never nothing!
I say, if it turns out to be something serious, there is a strongly worded letter due to head of that ER.
My mom, last year, was on the brink of that, when I had gone to the ER they found nothing and sent me home with Vicodin even though I requested that I not be given those painkillers. (which I wound up taking, I was desperate). Then to find out it later it *might* be viral meningitis and the ER didn't take that into consideration. Its not like I was seeking, I said NO NARCOTICS.
Why are ER's so fricking lazy if you aren't bleeding out??
Best of luck and take all of the time you need!
I bet its a cya thing... If they diagnose you I bet then they have to be much more careful in treatment release/making mistakes etc. ER is more like triage after all
HOLY CRAP! *HUGS*
I hope you are feeling better, honey. :(
The ER has never been anything but a waste of time for me.
I had to go a few years back because I was vomiting up blood. I went to my regular Doctor, he told me to go to the ER right then. So I did. I went waited for ages felt like hell and when I got there they told me to go to my regular Doctor. 0.o Um...
I explained the situation and they said there wasn't anything they could do. They X-rayed my chest and sent me home sick as a dog.
Later my doctor called and it turned out I was allergic to something he had given me for a flu thing. *eyeroll* OH and the Insurance company REFUSED to pay for my visit stating it wasn't life or limb threatening. EVEN THOUGH my doctor sent me there. Fuck it was expensive too. :(
I hope you bounce back fast, honey.
