Veterans with PTSD are still being discharged with a diagnosis of "personality disorder" to as to remove any possibility of treatment or compensation for their internal wounds.
Veterans with Purple Hearts are still being medically discharged against their will and forced to repay their enlistment bonuses.
Veterans who are discharged honorably are still being denied compensation for disabilities incurred in the line of duty or are made to jump through so many hoops to get that compensation that they give up.
People are still blithely driving their SUV's with cheerful yellow ribbons that say "Support the Troops," and they haven't the faintest fucking notion how ridiculous that seems to veterans who wonder where their next rent payment is coming from.
So I'd just like to say this.
Support our troops.
Bring them home.
And if you can't bring them home, at least deploy them in a just cause.
Oh, and take care of them once they ARE home for a change.
I am deeply grateful to all of the veterans who have come before and after me and whose sacrifices should not be made in vain. Thank you for everything you've done, and for everything you do. You are not forgotten.
