|02:15 am - Such is my life|
It's 2:15am as I write this.
I have approximately eight-thousand Chapsticks in this house. I know this for a fact, because I buy another one practically every time I go to the store.
Sometimes, I buy two or three.
If I could buy Chapsticks in bulk, I probably would.
However, at this moment, I cannot find ONE freaking Chapstick.
I'm sure you all can appreciate that this is, indeed, a huge motherfuckin' tragedy.
(Note to sushirob: "tragedy" is another good word to use in conjunction with "motherfuckin'." Add this to the collection. Just sayin'.)
Hell with it. I'm going to sleep.
Current Mood: sleepy
I too have a lip balm addiction that cannot be contained. Fortunately, numbers are starting to work in my favor as I'm starting to be able to put them in obvious places where they would be handy; basket next to chair, knitting bags, purse, etc. The one place I do not have any is in the bathroom. Seems counter intuitive. Must rectify.
I am supposed to be sleeping but I keep waking up around 3 or 4 am. Then I either toss and turn or get up and check my laptop for a bit. Then try to go back to sleep and crash.
No idea why this insomnia is coming on right now. Bloody annoying.
I guess I will try to go back to bed, if only to get this cat off my arm before it goes numb.
Heh. You should have blogged this instead of just commenting. This cracked me up. And thanks for the stashing tips. I need to just go buy about 50 of the suckers and put them all over the place.
Sorry about the insomnia. Kind of a pain, isn't it? *hugs*
I finally had to settle for ~shudder~ a jar of Carmex that is probably left over from my high school days.
My poor lips: what have I done to thee?

This is going to sound really weird, but, the last time my lips were severely chapped and I couldn't find any of my lip balms, I rubbed some butter on them. Olive oil hadn't worked, hand lotion tastes nasty, so, I was out of other options! Surprisingly, it actually worked well enough to smooth my lips a bit, and tide me over until morning when I could get (yet another) thing of lip balm.
Wait, wait, wait -- butter or margarine? Because I can see margarine, but I wouldn't think butter would work as well.

Well, Earth Balance, which is margarine. I get lazy with the distinctions.
Heh. Thanks for the clarification. That actually makes more sense since margarine is more oily than butter, I think.
I wonder if I could stick some margarine, coloring, and flavoring into a chapstick tube?
Or a Carmex jar!
Hey -- new business plan!

NONE OF YOU FUCKERS BETTER STEAL MY IDEA!

Did you even think of the bacon lipbalm?

In a pinch, Prep H will work as well (it's just vaseline with a bit of cod liver oil mixed in) although I'd probably start with a new tube. :P I can't see why this would gross anybody out, but if it does, just get a small tub of Vaseline and keep it in your medicine cabinet. A Chapstick is just a tube of concentrated petroleum jelly afterall.
Heh. See, the problem would be the same if I had Prep H around: when I went looking for chapsticks, I wouldn't be able to find that either.
Also, margarine would probably taste better than Prep H. (Or so I would imagine.)
But good tip for desperate times of lip-dryness emergencies.
Ugh, I really truly despise Chapstick to the very depths of my being. It's a horrid tube of sticking wax that will shred your lips if you're unlucky, and merely sit there like a layer of glue if you're lucky.
I'm a lip balm connoisseur, always in search of the best product. I believe the ones I'm trying out now are extremely promising - one's already gotten big thumbs up from my very-picky sister. But they're not items you can just grab on a trip to the grocery store, of course. I'm all about obscure online e-tailers!
So far, my favorite is the colored Burt's Bees peppermint ones, but those are pricey, so I end up getting Natural Ice or whatever's on the endcap at the grocery.
Hope you had a great motherfuckin' Xmas.
Hey, babe, long time no see! I hope yours was good as well. Give us a blog update, man, we miss ya!
