Balloon time again?

How time flies. It seems like just a few months ago we were doing the Great Reno Balloon Race thing, but apparently, it's been a year.

Got a couple of nice pics (sneak preview above, dialup warning applies). This year, Mom got to ride also (This is her and my boss helping with setup), and we got a good look at sushirob's house. There were a couple of others up for a ride the same day, and the weather was great.

As always, one of my favorite things is the inside of the balloon as it's being inflated and the whole setup process. (Our pilot, Bob, says ballooning is a participation sport, and he makes everyone participate.) The flames that heat the air keep things nice and toasty once you're airborne too.

Weather permitting, banshree and/or banshree's mom may get to go up tomorrow. (The races were cancelled yesterday due to high winds, so keep your fingers crossed.)

If you ever get a chance to go up in a hot air balloon, do it. Even if you're afraid of heights, do it. The ride is so gentle, you almost don't know that you're up high -- it's like suddenly you're looking at a map instead of the ground.

Oh, and for those of you who read last year's entry, we were in Mid-Life Crisis again this year. :-)
