|11:04 am - Chewie back home|
Thanks, everyone, for your prayers and well-wishes. Chewie's back home after a night in the hospital, and seems none the worse for wear. The x-rays didn't show any blockages, so we're thinking it was probably the peach or nectarine pit he swallowed that was clogging him up, and passing it caused the blood. The vet said he should be fine.
Now, where the hell he got a nectarine pit, I have no idea. We have apples, apricots, pears, and cherries, but no peaches or nectarines. Maybe someone threw it over the fence. ~sigh~
Anyway, all is well with the dog.
Oh, and extra special thanks to banshree who took me to the hospital this morning at seven am to get the little guy.
Much relief all around.
do you have raccoons in the area?
Our dogs have found things in our yard that we know aren't from us/our trash, and our neighbors are all friendly enough not to toss things over (and no children of an age to do such things.) We pretty much have it pinned on the area raccoons we hear almost nightly.
Thank you for the update,V.
Whew! That's a relief!
As for the nectarine, we've had squirrels carry lemons from the neighbor's house over to our yard, eat half (because after half, they finally figure out how sour they are, I guess) and drop the remainder right in the middle of our back lawn. I would not be surprised if some skwrl or skwrl-analogue stole something out of a tree or rooted something out of somebody's garbage or compost and deposited it in your yard with just enough tasty fruit flesh left on it to tempt your Chewie.
I'm sorry I missed it, but I'm glad he's OK. :D

Glad he's ok. Someone once threw a pork chop over the fence for Hank...nice thought but it was one whole piece and it got stuck. At 2 a.m. Puppy was lucky I still had mommy ears and could hear him whine...
Oh wow, I am so glad Chewie is ok!
