|04:53 pm - A Special Day|
Charlie and I spent much of today cleaning the garage and carport, attempting to get the '72 Chrysler started, blowing leaves off the walk, and generally puttering about outside the house. Later on in the afternoon, I walked up to him.
"Honey," I said, "do you know what today is?"
He stared at me for a moment, obviously madly calculating possible dates. "It's not your birthday," he said confidently.
"No," I replied, "It's not my birthday."
The wheels in his head began spinning again as he tried to figure out what was up. Suddenly, the light went on. "Um ... if it's November 14th, I know what today is," he ventured.
"It's not November 14th," I assured him.
"Oh good!" he looked relieved.
"But November 14th is coming right up, so this is your reminder."
He grinned at me. "Okay, cool, thanks."
"Because, you know," I went on, "this is becoming like an annual joke on my blog -- how we're always forgetting our anniversary. That's two years in a row now, and people are laughing at us."
He giggled and gave me a hug. Now, what do you want to bet that even after that, we're STILL going to forget our anniversary this year?
I will simply say that I am not giving good odds.

I'm sure someone here will remind you this time.
Not me, mind you. Dates seem to have an automatic SEP field erected around them.
What were we talking about again?

well duh, by definition its an SEP

True. I do remember my own birthday and Christmas, but prezzies were an incentive there. And New Year's Eve/Day and the 4th of July are gimmes. Other than that, it's a toss-up.
"What were we talking about again?"
Um ... whether a hunter or a warlock is better for solo combat in World of Warcraft?
Or ... something about figs maybe?

Figs make lousy solo toons. They are a squishy with no spellcasting abilities.

Hunter, no question

You do know you can set up an email so it automatically gets sent on a particular date.[just google for futureme.com]
Half the trick to remembering stuff is remembering to use reminders...and yes that is as recursive as it sounds.
Dude. It gets worse. I *WROTE* a program to send automatic email reminders of important dates. This program is in use on many websites, some of which have been set up entirely around the use of said program.
And yes, you do have to remember to set the fricking thing up.
Hence, the problem.
Ok, you're a hopeless case then.
Oh we'd laugh even if y'all remembered your day. ;^)
